A FEMALE TRIO

A bit perverse and full of irony story about three women has become an onscreen meeting of three charismatic, gifted with extraordinary personalities actresses: Agata Buzek, Krystyna Janda and Anna Polony. Under the watchful eye of director Borys Lankosz they created a daring trio which seduces audiences from the very first scene.

“The offer to play mother in Reverse was very tempting for a great number of reasons: the screenplay, subject, genre, the person of the director, about whom I could say a ton of good, director of photography, a wonderful artist with whom I wanted to meet with for some time now, as well as, maybe above all, the opportunity to act with Mrs. Anna Polony, whose acting I’ve been admiring for years and Agata Buzek, an actress I’ve been observing for some time now and whose performance in Three Sisters I value highly,” recalls Janda.

For Agata Buzek a meeting with Krystyna Janda and Anna Polony was equally inspiring. “It is a huge challenge,” says Agata Buzek and adds with a smile: “I have to be sharp”. “Sabina comes from a strong house, where mother and grandma reign. I think that it was a good idea to give these roles to such strong personalities as Krystyna Janda and Anna Polony.

”The two stars recall their cooperation with Agata with warm feelings. “Agata is a charming, delicate, quiet person, full of grace and a very good, sensitive actress. It was a pleasure to play with her and we found a common acting tongue very quickly,” says Polony.

The on-set meeting of Janda and Polony meeting was also remarkable. These two legends of Polish film and theater have never before worked together. “We met with Krystyna Janda years ago, at Andrzej Wajda’s house. We also met later on some occasion, but we never worked together. I was a bit afraid of this first joint venture, I had no idea whether we would mix together, would she be open or bristling. I was pleasantly disappointed. All my fears turned out to be redundant,” recalls Polony. She adds: “One could say that Krystyna accepted me with open arms. Within a few days we formed a cordial bond and I believe that it will prevail, that is if I get to live some more (laugh)”.
In Revers, the three strong female personalities become the driving force of the story. The surprising development of events uncovers the darker side to female nature and presents before us the strength of women’s character.

“Both of these ladies gave me not just the pleasure of professional collaboration, a guarantee of something unique and out of the ordinary, but also the opportunity to see two astonishing human elements in action. Their imagination and sense of humor brought on the fact that I remember the filming sessions as a series of truly extraordinary days. Although I haven’t seen the movie yet, when I was watching them act, I felt as if a cat caught my tongue,” said Janda. Then she added: “This was wonderful work and collaboration. I hope that audiences like the movie and consider it important”
