Reverse is a very important experience for us.

Following a 14 year long break, KADR Studio is returning to Polish cinematography, as a feature film producer. This movie refers to wonderful traditions of KADR, a team from the very beginning managed by one of the most outstanding Polish movie creators – Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

This tradition nests the debuts of the most talented Polish directors of the young generation. A great role is played by the literary screenplay. Of equal importance in KADR films are form, style and language of the given piece. I hope that The Reverse, Borys Lankosz’s debut, shot according to the screenplay of an outstanding Polish writer, Andrzej Bart, meets all these criteria which characterize movies of the old KADR, the team which formed the Polish movie school.

Marcin Koszałek’s black-and-white cinematography, the world of the 50’s created from scratch by Magdalena Dipont at the film studio, costumes from the period reconstructed with great reverence by Magdalena Biedrzycka, make-up work on brilliant actors conducted by Mirosława Wojtczak, Ludmiła Krawczyk and Waldemar Pokromski, and stylized after the 50’s period jazz music composed by Włodek Pawlik complemented with wonderful special sound production by Maria Chilarecka and Aleksander Musiałowski and finally stylish direction of Borys Lankosz, debutant surrounded by a team of experienced Polish moviemakers, allowed for the creation of The Reverse, a film in which one could feel selfless love for cinema from the very first day of production.
